Before Roman Reigns faces Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38, he will have to defend the WWE Universal Championship against Goldberg at the 2022 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.

Goldberg is one of the most successful pro wrestlers around the globe. Coming almost towards the end of his pro wrestling career, he will try to win the WWE Universal Championship one more time.

Recently, appearing on WWE The Bump, Goldberg took a personal shot at the Tribal Chief. Goldberg reminded the WWE Universal Champion of his impressive record against his family.

Goldberg said, “I’ve never lost to anybody he is related to. So that’s something I want to carry on.”

At WWE Backlash in 2003, Goldberg defeated Roman Reigns’ cousin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Also in 2003, Goldberg defeated Roman Reigns’ brother Rosey on WWE RAW. During his time in WCW, Goldberg even got the better of Reigns’ uncle King Haku (Meng) several times.

It will be interesting to see if Roman Reigns can put an end to this impressive record of Goldberg against his family at Elimination Chamber.

Goldberg and Roman Reigns could have collided two years ago at WrestleMania 36

Roman Reigns and Goldberg were scheduled to face each other at WrestleMania 36. But unfortunately, the match never took place. But the WWE Universe will now finally get to see these superstars go head-to-head for the first time.

Prior to WrestleMania 36, Goldberg was the WWE Universal Champion. And Roman Reigns was not the Tribal Chief. But things have changed now.

Roman is the Tribal Chief now. And he is also the WWE Universal Champion. During his interview on WWE The Bump, Goldberg talked about Reigns’ evolution over these two years.

The WWE legend said, “He has got quite a different character athlete than two years ago. He has progressed, he has evolved, and he is much more dangerous than he was back then.”

Though Goldberg praised Reigns, he also gave a warning to the Tribal Chief soon after that.

“I probably have gone the other way. But I’ve always said 70% of Goldberg is 100% better than 99% of the people out there. So I still believe that I can rip his face off,” he added.
