WWE Legend Triple H’s Political ‘Game’ Led to Friction Among Peers Backstage: “Maybe That’s the Case…”

Triple H is one of the most celebrated performers in the history of WWE. ‘The Game’ had an illustrious career spanning over two decades and racked up several championship reigns, including 14 World Championship titles.

During his spectacular tenure, Hunter has feuded with legends such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, and Mick Foley.

Moreover, Triple H has been working as a WWE executive for many years. However, there were controversies concerning his political influence and power backstage in the past. Recently, former WWE superstar Matt Hardy spoke about Triple H and how his political games caused altercations with superstars backstage. Additionally, Hardy expressed his admiration for the legend who retired this year at WrestleMania 38.

Matt Hardy Talks About Triple H And Working Alongside With Him

The Hardy Boyz are undoubtedly one of the most notorious and accomplished tag teams of all time. Currently, both of the brothers are with AEW. Recently, the older brother Matt Hardy talked about their tag team championship saga at WrestleMania 33 and various other things in the recent episode of his ‘The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy’‘ podcast.

Speaking about how they worked with Hunter, Matt Hardy shed some light on how Triple H worked both on and off the ring. “I would always got along with him fine. There were times from earlier on when people criticized him for being political. Especially maybe in the way he utilized himself or used his power. And maybe that’s the case. I was never a guy at that level that had to deal with that, obviously,” Hardy said.

Moreover, explaining how the WWE legend worked to popularize the NXT brand, Matt Hardy added, “I feel like once he retired from being a full-time wrestler, and he was more of an office person. And NXT was really his huge passion. He loved that so much with every aorta of his heart. It was really special for him building that from the ground up. Creating something special, I got along great with him. And I feel like anytime he produced any of our stuff, he did some of the stuff with myself.”

On Triple H’s Retirement And Health Issues

When elaborating his response on Triple H’s retirement due to cardiac issues, Matt Hardy talked about how he reached out and had a brief talk. “I mean it is what it is. We all have to retire one day. I remember I reached out to him after I heard about his condition. And I spoke to him briefly. I was glad that he was hopefully recovering well. It sucks he has to retire but I’m glad he’s healthy because he has a big family and I know he loves his daughters.”

Triple H has been suffering from heart-related issues since last September.

He opened day 2 of WrestleMania 38 to officially announce his retirement from his role as COO of WWE and the ring to focus more on his health.
