The anticipation for WWE’s biggest PLE of the year, WrestleMania 40 is building up for the fans. While the event in Philadelphia is shaping up, the location for next year’s grand spectacle might excite the fans even more. If the reports are to be believed, WrestleMania will be headed to the venue of its first outdoor event for the first time since 1993, when fans got to see an impromptu main event involving Hulk Hogan.

Although the event is still over a year away, fans will be excited to know that WWE could be returning to Las Vegas for its WrestleMania spectacle. WWE usually announces the venue city for next year’s WrestleMania on the weekend of the current year’s extravaganza. Vital Vegas, known for its updates around Sin City reported that WrestleMania could be coming back to Vegas.

The last time WrestleMania was in Vegas it was during the ninth edition of WWE’s marquee event. WrestleMania IX, hosted at Caesars Palace, was the first ‘Mania event held outdoors. The event was largely received as underwhelming and saw The Undertaker compete in a rather unforgettable match against Giant Gonzalez, winning via disqualification. But it was the main event that would become the talking point for years to come.

After Yokozuna defeated Bret “The Hitman” Hart for the WWE Championship thanks to Mr. Fuji, Hulk Hogan made his way to the ring. Fuji then threw a challenge to Hogan who duly accepted and beat Yokozuna in under 30 seconds to win the WWE title. This drew criticism in many parts and remains one of the infamous WrestleMania endings. WWE will be keen to avoid a repeat if they were to head back to Vegas next year.

WrestleMania 40 is taking place in Philadelphia. However, the Kick Off event for the upcoming PLE took place in Las Vegas because of the coverage it would provide the company due to the Super Bowl Weekend.

After the exciting press conference, some reports suggested that WWE will return to Vegas again in 2025, but this time, for WrestleMania 41. Since WrestleMania 40 is the one that is drawing closer day by day, let’s focus on what we know about the event and its match card so far.
