WWE SmackDown (November 24, 2023) Recap & Results: Backstage Tension, Major Change Announced for Survivor Series & More

The women kicked off this week’s Friday Night SmackDown. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Shotzi addressed the crowd a day prior to their women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. Soon Bayley interrupted them, trying to sow seeds of conflict between former rivals Lynch and Flair. The segment ended with Lynch laying out a challenge to any two members of Damage CTRL, to battle herself and Charlotte tonight.

The Judgment Day vs. The Street Profits for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships

Winner: The Judgment Day

Tonight’s first bout saw Finn Balor and Damian Priest taking on Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins in a tag team match. Though coming so close to winning the belts a couple of times, The Street Profits couldn’t beat their opponents, courtesy of a distraction from Rhea Ripley.

A backstage segment showed Flair confirming that she asked Adam Pierce and Nick Aldis to make their tag team match against Damage CTRL match official, which they did. Lynch felt betrayed and accused Flair of going behind her back to talk to the authorities alone. It looks like tensions are emerging between the two female superstars.

Kevin Owens and LA Knight vs. Grayson Waller and Austin Theory

Winner: Kevin Owens and LA Knight

What started as a chat session in The Grayson Waller Effect soon turned into a tag team match between the two groups. For most of the match, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory tried to keep Kevin Owens away from LA Knight as a strategy to win the match but were unsuccessful eventually as they lost the bout via pinfall.

In a heated in-ring segment, Santos Escobar attacked Carlito and then attacked him again backstageThis led to the proposed Escobar vs Carlito match getting almost canceled. But Dragon Lee vouched to step forward and fight instead of the injured Carlito. So tomorrow it’s Lee vs. Escobar at Survivor Series WarGames.

Pretty Deadly vs. The Brawling Brutes

Winner: Pretty Deadly

Butch and Ridge Holland entered the bout with some issues to fix. The tension between the two teammates rose higher today as Holland left Butch high and dry and walked out of the match. This caused The Brawling Brutes to lose the match as Pretty Deadly capitalized on the situation.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka and Bayley

Winner: Damage CRTL

Putting aside their differences for the night, Flair and Lynch stepped inside the ring to face Asuka and Bayley for the main event. But just when things couldn’t get worse. Flair accidentally speared Lynch.

Capitalizing on the situation, damage CTRL picked up a big win tonight. The losing team looked quite upset with Lynch storming out of the ring and with that, it is a wrap. Good Night!
