Current AEW World Champion MJF has been the talk of the wrestling world for some time. He is one of the most intriguing characters in wrestling today where you cannot tell where his on-screen persona ends and his real-life personality begins. Maxwell Jacob Friedman also doesn’t shy away from sharing his opinions whether it’s in the ring or outside it. More recently, he has gone after MMA fighters Paddy Pimblett and the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor.

A few weeks ago, the Salt of the Earth got into an online verbal spat with Paddy Pimblett. This even led to Conor McGregor diving in after MJF mentioned his name to mock Pimblett. In typical heel MJF fashion, the pro wrestler didn’t spare McGregor either for his interference.

This was not the first time he rubbed MMA fans the wrong way. A few weeks ago, he appeared on the Pardon My Take podcast and made some comments that turned a few heads in MMA.

Fans school MJF over MMA-pro wrestling comparisons

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is one of the best talkers in wrestling today. His promo skills, and charisma as a heel, have made him a must-see performer for AEW. Apart from his in-ring talents, he has gained quite a name by not holding back his views and speaking his mind.

This led him to an online banter with Paddy Pimblett, whom he called a ‘dollar store McGregor’. Afterward, when McGregor refused to acknowledge him and showed support for his fellow MMA fighter, MJF didn’t even spare him as well. He called out both fighters in an insulting fashion on Twitter.

Now the Devil Himself has again found himself at the center of the storm. In a recent appearance on Pardon My Take, he talked about pro wrestling and MMA. MJF labeled pro wrestling as the most dangerous sport in the world. Moreover, he also said that he has met MMA fighters who took a bump in a wrestling ring and didn’t want to try it any further.

His comments stirred up the pot and UFC and MMA fans were quick to school him over his views after Pardon My Take shared a clip from the interview on Facebook.

One fan wrote, “Wrestlers always think they are the toughest they always love rolling around with another dude on the ground! Owww owww.

Another user commented, “It’s body builders and steroid junkies acting. It’s physically demanding drama club for grown men. It’s a spectacle not a sport.

A fan wrote, “I would love to see this guy work a few shifts at a firehouse/police station and let’s hear him say “Put our lives on the line”.

One fan even dared MJF to get in a cage to fight. He wrote, “Get in the cage and have an amateur fight then.”

Another user said that MJF had taken a blow to his head to be saying such things. He commented, “Fake fighting vs real fighting……I think you took too many fake blows to the head my friend lol.”

There were more comments about fans about MJF. One user wrote, “This guy literally has the most garbage takes of all time lmao. One more user wrote, “This dude here soft. Werstling is not a sport. Yeah the bumps are real but it’s still not a sport. It just a show with a bunch of muscle head men in oil and tights.”

There was also an uneven comparison by a fan. He wrote, “Wrestling is tougher the same way Golf is tougher then volleyball.”

One user went a little in-depth in the MMA pro wrestling comparison. He wrote, “pro wrestling is a show! it is not competitive. it’s essentially just acting with stunts. and of course pro wrestlers are tough and athletic, but there is nothing competitive about it. mixed martial artists are warriors, and pro wrestlers are essentially eccentric body builders.”

And what appeared to be an experienced fan also wrote, “As someone who has trained both….. mma is a million trillion times harder than wrestling.”

Clearly, fans of UFC and MMA weren’t too pleased by MJF’s comments and let him know what they think.

MJF won the AEW World title at the Ful Gear pay-per-view when he beat Jon Moxley with a little assist from William Regal. But the Devil Himself showed his true colors as he turned on Regal and brutally attacked him on the very next episode of AEW Dynamite. This further led to Bryan Danielson rushing down to the ring to check on his Blackpool Combat Club mentor.

All this could mean Bryan Danielson could be next in line to face MJF. Also, there is a possibility some other BCC member like Claudio Castagnoli or Wheeler Yuta will like to get in the face of the AEW World Champion.
