One of the women to gain a massive positive traction in the last few years in WWE is Bianca Belair. While not engaged in wrestling for the longest time, she has the athletics and the charisma to rival the best in the industry. Ever since her WrestleMania main event match with Sasha Banks, the EST of WWE has ruthlessly held on to the top spot in the company.

But her beginnings are humble yet fierce as she was determined to succeed in athleticism. But who influenced a young Belair to opt for athletics when she was nothing but a Tennessee girl? In an interview with Kevin Hart, she revealed who her idol was, and it isn’t any wrestler but a former track star.

In the interview, Hart asks Belair about her humble beginning as a track and field athlete. Belair explained her interest in the sport saying, “I started with a track when I was like five years old and I was out there and my gymnastics, leotards, and lipstick people were calling me a little mini Flo-Jo and I think I fell in love with the athleticism of a sport.

Belair’s idol, Florence Griffin Joyner, also known as Flo-Jo, was one of the biggest track and field stars who set major records in 1988. One aspect that Belair borrows from the legend is her iconic long hair. Belair uses her long braid in her matches as an ode to her idol. Flo-Jo opened the world for women like Belair and she continues to open the gate further while being true to herself.
Her storied career and milestones lend credence to her achievements in WWE and outside the ring.

Under Roman Reigns’ history-making title run, the other record-breaking title runs are being overshadowed. Just last month, Belair broke MVP’s record of being the black person with the longest-reigning title reign in WWE history. Now she is hoping to beat another record. This time she aims to usurp Becky Lynch’s record of the longest Raw Women’s Championship reign.

In Belair’s case, she outdoes everyone as she makes her own gear from nothing. She chooses the cloth materials, sequins, and everything needed. Then she sews it together to make her show-stopping gears for every one of her big appearances.

Also, alongside that, Belair also appeared in and won a bodybuilding competition, displaying excellent form. While she is busy conquering other athletic competitions, Belair has reassured fans that she will continue to work in WWE.
