The Alpha Academy (Otis and Chad Gable) has been a tag team since 2020. This past week, on the 10th January 2022 episode of RAW, they defeated RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) for the tag team titles. The victory came after Randy Orton missed an RKO on Chad Gable and Otis hit ‘The Viper’ with a Body Slam.

Following the win, Gable tweeted a picture and revealed that the bond between him and Otis had started long before they joined the WWE.

He opened the post, saying, “There’s winning championships, and then there’s achieving dreams alongside your best friend… The Alpha Academy relationship is much more than a tag team. It’s been a brotherhood for 10+ years.”

They have known each other since 2011, when both were training for the Olympics in Colorado Springs. The current tag team champion, Gable, was also an amateur wrestler who competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London. Simultaneously, Otis also trained in amateur wrestling.

Gable proudly said about Otis, “My protege. My prized pupil. My #1 guy. But most importantly, my friend. We did it. #AlphaAcademy”.

After having achieved success, it will get tough for Alpha Academy as challengers will try to knock them off their perch. 

The future of Alpha Academy as RAW tag team champions

The new RAW tag team champions, Alpha Academy, will be looking for new challenges from next week. Their maiden challenge could come from the team they beat, i.e. RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle). As Orton and Riddle are expected to turn on each other, Alpha Academy should retain; but what next?

There are other teams in line who are eying the RAW tag team titles. Teams like The Mysterios, The Dirty Dawgs, and The Street Profits come to mind as potential contenders who will want a shot at Alpha Academy.
