The world no.1, Scottie Scheffler, was on a podcast called Golf’s Subpar with Colt Knost and Drew Stotlz. The interview went on for an hour and there were quite a few topics that were discussed between the crew and the pro.

During the interview, he was questioned about the Texas Ranchers pickleball team and how they are performing. Scottie Scheffler said, “I know, I think it’s going pretty good. I would definitely say I own a very, very small fraction of the team and very passive owner. So, but as far as I hear, they’re doing great.

To continue the conversation, one of the hosts said “You’re like, Jay Z. Like the nets.” Scheffler found the comment funny and jokingly agreed with the statement saying, “Yeah, sure. Something like that!

Just to shed some light on the topic, Scottie Sheffler is part owner of the Texas Ranchers Pickleball team. They have also shown support for the pro golfer when he is on the Tour via their Instagram posts.

Regarding the comparison between Scottie Scheffler and Jay-Z, it has another interesting backstory. The fact is, Scheffler only owns a fraction of the pickleball team. While he enjoys the sport himself, he admitted that he is very active with his ownership.

This can be compared to Jay-Z, who was part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets himself. According to reports, Jay-Z held 1/15th stakes in the New York-based basketball team. He sold off his share of the Brooklyn Nets back in 2013 after 10 years of purchasing it.

While Scottie Scheffler has not proceeded with selling his stakes, the fraction of his ownership can still be compared to that of Jay-Z’s association with the Nets.
