The cheerful and fun Roddick suffered a defeat that affected him to the core. In the year 2010, his early exit at the Wimbledon Championships made him recalculate everything. In fact, after the match, he took a not-so-common measure to break free from the mess. 

What was Roddick’s unexpected move?

Before returning to the circuit and starting his journey toward the last Grand Slam of the 2010 season, Roddick shaved his head. He, in a way, marked the new beginning of his season by giving himself a buzz cut. “The haircut was my idea,” he said.

Thereafter, he added, “I must have been having a Britney Spears moment.” Britney Spears, the American singer and songwriter, is credited for the revival of teen pop in the 1990s and early 2000s. Speaking of the buzz cut, Spears shaved her head during a 2007 meltdown.

The 2003 US Open champion is currently investing his energy toward the betterment of society. He runs the Andy Roddick Foundation, a nonprofit organization that aims to provide children with a better life outside the classroom.

The foundation aims at expanding opportunities for children is currently based in Austin, Texas. Further, apart from that, Roddick also has an interest in the investment market. He has invested in wellness and health startups, like Cure Hydration. Speaking of him maintaining the bond with his sport, he often makes appearances on radio programs and is famous for giving his unfiltered analytical opinions.
