In the Cincinnati Open 2021 opening round, Andy Murray found the limelight once again. In one hour and 52 minutes, he upset the 2019 semifinalist Richard Gasquet in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
While he delighted tennis fans with his high-quality tennis, Andy later revealed the entertaining players to watch out for on the court. The list included ATP stars Corentin Moutet, Gael Monfils, Nick Kyrgios, and Daniil Medvedev.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray has entertained fans for more than a decade. Hence, it is interesting to know whose game compels him.
“I like watching [Corentin] Moutet and [Gael] Monfils. I like watching [Nick] Kyrgios when he’s into it. When he’s not into it, I don’t enjoy that at all. But when he’s into it, I really enjoy watching him,” Murray answered while in conversation with ATPTour.com.

In addition, the two-time Cincinnati Masters winner disclosed that he enjoys intelligent players on the court. For this, he chose Daniil Medvedev, who has impressed him despite an awkward playing style.
“Some of the youngsters now, the young, young ones, are really fun to watch. I like watching [Daniil] Medvedev as well. I think he’s a very interesting player who has got lots of variety and has an awkward-looking game. But he’s very intelligent on the court and that’s what I like to see. I like people who are thinking out there,” Murray added.

After round one win, the 34-year-old Murray will look forward to spending more time at the Western and Southern Open. Besides, he also gave an ever-lasting memory to a fan post his win over Gasquet.

Who will Murray play next at the Cincinnati Open 2021?

According to the draw, Murray could come across ninth seed Hubert Hurkacz or Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round. Therefore, it is an uphill battle for him from here on.
Most significantly, Murray is looking forward to building momentum going into the US Open 2021. Hence, the more time he spends in Cincinnati, the better for him.
