However, the game didn’t go as planned for the Lakers as they were seven points behind already in the first quarter. LeBron James has made headlines once again as he cleaned up Russell Westbrook’s mess with an insane block.
On a night the Lakers continue to struggle, LeBron James comes up with an insane highlight yet again. After struggling in the first quarter, the Lakers bounced back in the 2nd quarter and closed down their gap to 3 points.
LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony have been the best performers of the game so far for the Lakers with 11 & 10 points, respectively. However, LeBron made an insane chase-down block in the game as he blocked R.J. Hampton, who tried to score after Westbrook lost the ball.

LeBron James does ‘the Mutombo’ after a chase-down block vs the Magic
During the 2nd quarter, Westbrook lost the possession to the Magic defense, and the Magic initiated a counter. R.J. Hampton received a pass from his teammate and he had a clear way to score. Then comes LeBron James and his art of chase-down block.
James comes from behind, blocks Hampton, and celebrates with by doing Dikembe Mutombo’s finger wag celebration.

8-time All-Star and 2015 Hall of Fame inductee Dikembe Mutombo created the ‘finger wag’ celebration, popularly known as the Mutombo celebration. He is the 2nd-best shot-blocker in the history of the NBA, only behind Hakeem Olajuwon. Mutombo averaged a double-double for most of his 18-year-old playing career. However, nothing lived longer than his finger wag celebration.
LeBron James’ chase-down block, followed by a Mutombo celebration, is one for the history books. This is not the first time we’re witnessing a chase-down block. Players have been doing it for a long time, but James’ blocks are way more powerful than others.
