The sport of bodybuilding is not only centered around one competition, Mr. Olympia even though it remains a primary goal for every athlete to conquer and win this prestigious title. Apart from the Olympia, numerous other contests hold significant importance. After earning the bronze medal at the Olympia, Samson Dauda, actively took part in other events as well. Dauda’s way of handling things illustrates his commitment to the sport and spreading a positive attitude in the bodybuilding community.

Unlike other bodybuilders who focus solely on winning contests, Dauda is determined to promote the sport. To spread his sports enthusiasm, instead of taking a rest after the biggest show, he demonstrated his commitment. He made a stage presence at other events after Olympia like the Romanian Pro and EVLS Prague Pro. He won at Romanian Pro contests. But before making this decision to take part he was confused and talked to his coach Milos Sarcev.

Sarcev shared a podcast snippet on his Instagram account, with a caption that read, “Why is @samson__dauda competing?” He explained in this short clip, “Before Olympia Samson asks me hey what do you think of me doing Romania in Prague? I said you’re asking the guy that competed 110 times I always welcome competitions. Right! but hey if you win the Olympia, I win, Lose or Draw, I want to go I want to promote.” Sarcev was impressed with Dauda’s response because back in the day, he also competed in more than 100 shows. Not only him, but bodybuilders like Ronnie Coleman, Dorian Yates, and Jay Cutler, also participated in events just to promote the sport itself.

The Serbian Bodybuilder further added, “he says I want like Jay did 2006 right and Ronnie and Dorian. You go for a $110,000 purse you know after you just won 300,000 at the Arnold Classic and you had a crack and 400,000 at the Olympia you know of course it’s not comparable.” While praising his student he mentioned, “He literally wants to bring Olympia level guy to the Romania Prague and the audiences that have no chance to come and see it, and when he told me this it’s like wow.”

He aimed for a higher purpose and not for personal gain. Sarcev supported his decision and thought this would be a great initiative and possibly could make a difference in the bodybuilding community. Dauda’s perspective of doing more than just winning another championship intrigued Sarcev.

Taking part in several shows would help in growth says Jay Cutler

In the recent episode of CutlerCast along with Jay Cutler, Manager Matt, Sarcev revealed Dauda’s spirit for the sport and compared it to the 4x Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler. While talking about the Arnold Classic champ’s physique and conditioning he said with this mindset “he could stay home you know and relax,” because he is “already in contest shape I want to promote the sport,” said Sarcev about 33-year-old bodybuilder. In the middle of their discussion about Dauda, Sarcev asked Cutler about his perspective and why he took part in other contests because he was winning the Olympias.

Additionally, in response to that bodybuilding behemoth said, “For the fan exposure you know I knew that I was on top and I wanted to Branch out and compete I didn’t look at the the financial part of it.” Cutler further shared, “Just you know Steve was going as a judge and you know I wanted to stand next to Ronnie again I knew he would go and kind of collect up and I kind of wanted to do battle with some of the other guys.”

The 50-year-old didn’t care only about winning or the money. He aimed for fan exposure and the chance to stand alongside other formidable contenders, who somehow didn’t qualify for Olympia. According to Cutler, competing internationally could bring new opportunities and significant exhibitions for the individual athlete.

Despite the benefits of taking part in different competitions, many people have shown their concern about Dauda’s decision. Dauda has already competed in many contests in 2023 and registered his victory at the Arnold Classic and Romanian Pro and now he has taken part at ELVS Prague Pro. People are worried that it might be too much for him.
