Mike Tyson ranks among the biggest boxing stars in boxing. In his vast boxing stint, Tyson became a fan favorite in no time and became a flamboyant face of the heavyweight division. The hard-hitting heavyweight achieved paramount accolades with his high-voltage prowess. Mike Tyson never won an Olympic medal
Tyson was racing to become a heavyweight hotshot at a young age. He analyzed himself and after a short amateur boxing run, ‘Iron’ Mike turned into a professional boxer and he never made an appearance in the Olympics for the US.

Failed to achieve 2 million PPV buys
Though Tyson was the most intimidating heavyweight of the retro era, his fights still never captivated 2 million PPV buys. His highest-grossing fight was against rival, Evander Holyfield in 1997, which reported 1.99 million PPV buys.
Never avenged his pro-boxing losses
Mike Tyson, in his boxing reign, lost 6 times in total. His very first pro-boxing loss came in 1990 against James Douglas. Post that, he lost two fights to his arch-nemesis, Evander Holyfield. Later he lost to Lennox Lewis, Kevin McBride, and Danny Williams.
These losses put a slight dent on ‘Iron’ Mike’s decorated resume because he never avenged these from his rival opponents.
Never won an exhibition bout

In November 2020, Tyson took up an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. In this fight, the 55-year-old showed a snippet of his old self and went all out against Jones Jr. Yet, he failed to fetch a win in this fight and it ended with a draw. But despite that, he entertained a vast sea of an audience.
Failed to retire with an immaculate track record
‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ hung up his gloves from the game in 2005 and his record stood 50-6. Many expected that Tyson would go on to become the undefeated stalwart of heavyweight boxing. But he certainly couldn’t do the same.
