Canelo Alvarez has been the prime attraction for middleweights, super middleweights, and even light heavyweights to some extent, grabbing call-outs from all three weight classes and beyond. But he will primarily face the IBF 168 lbs champion, Caleb Plant, in a massive unification clash, before heading towards some other matchup.
Meanwhile, he has garnered one more callout from the UK that can actually intrigue him to step up. 31-year-old Chris Eubank Jr. is the latest boxer to have desired a shot at Alvarez. He has also vowed to offer a tough fight.
Despite having a matchup against Sven Elbir in October, Eubank Jr. has already eyed Canelo Alvarez for a potential collision and has justified why he is the perfect opponent for the current three-belt unified super middleweight titlist.

In a chat with Sky Sports, Chris Eubank Jr, said, “I want to beat him. I want to fight fire with fire. The fans know that.”
“He’s the only one I would move up a weight again to fight and yeah, he is running out of guys to fight. Nobody wants to fight him and the guys that do want to fight him, [they] don’t actually want to fight him.”
“They want to get in the ring and survive and not get knocked out, and get their pay day. I mean who else is there? Beats Saunders, beats Callum Smith, there’s nobody else. It would fill the biggest stadium.”

That said, Eubank Jr’s resume of 30-2 falls extremely short before Canelo Alvarez’s mighty 56-1-2 record. But given the unpredictability of boxing, who knows, Eubank Jr. might be the second person to beat Alvarez as a pro.
Canelo Alvarez – One of the best of the era
After his maiden career loss to Floyd Mayweather in 2013, Alvarez has resurrected himself to become one of the best boxers of the time. Following a dominant run in the 160 lbs division, the P4P king moved up to 168 lbs and beat Callum Smith for the WBC, WBA, and Ring titles in December.

As of now, he has already collected three major world titles in the division, adding Billy Joe Saunders‘ WBO strap to his shoulder. As he is just short of the IBF belt now, it’s clear that the star pugilist will not run out of viable contenders, especially with everyone desiring to face him. So, time will clear all the doubts. Both men have their scheduled fights ahead at this point. Hence, after they are done, we can picture the potential collision.
