Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC superstar Conor McGregor are the stalwarts of their respective sports. And a clash between the duo is sure to set the PPV sales ablaze. In fact, their fight in 2017 was a testament to the same. Meanwhile, McGregor vowed to obliterate Mayweather, if a potential rematch takes place.

Mayweather previously faced McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on August 26, 2017. Rightfully titled, ‘The Money Fight’, the fight was said to have had a whopping 4.3 million PPV buys. Moreover, Mayweather ended up winning the fight via a 10th-round TKO.

On the other hand, boxing GWOAT Claressa Shields was fresh out of a sensational victory against Savannah Marshall. While congratulating her on her win, a fan compared Shields to Mayweather.
The fan specifically gave emphasis on her accuracy and precision inside the ring. Shields also pitched in by nodding in agreement.

McGregor responded to her tweet by mentioning that Shields has more ‘venom’ than Mayweather. He further mentioned that he would beat Mayweather if they have a rematch. McGregor also stated that he had the upper hand in the early rounds of their previous fights.

‘Notorious’ also added that he will come out with full force and will ‘end’ Mayweather.
USD 1.5 billion on the table for Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor
It seems like Floyd Mayweather is trying to get a trilogy showdown with Conor McGregor. And if reports are to be believed, a whopping USD 1.5 billion is on the table for the fights. It is said that Mayweather’s team is in talks with McGregor’s team for a two-fight contract. In an intriguing matchup, the duo will first face each other in the boxing ring. And the second fight will take place inside the octagon.

According to sources from Mayweather’s camp, the champ is ready to put his TBE name on the line. The source said, “If the deal is struck Floyd will remove the trademark TBE – The Best Ever – if he fails to beat Conor in both fights. That will be added to the contract. The boxing will be for official record. And the MMA match will also be for MMA official record.”
It was also mentioned that the duo was planning to conduct the fights in 2023.
