Despite Low Turnout at Aaron Chalmers Fight, Floyd Mayweather Makes Bold Claim About the UK

Floyd Mayweather just got through with his exhibition bout against Aaron Chalmers. Notably, the former five-division world champion officially retired from boxing back in 2017 and is now spending his post-retirement years participating in exhibition matches. His recent showdown against Chalmers certainly turned out to be profitable for Mayweather, since both fighters made hefty sums of money for a fight with no winners announced. As good as it may seem, the event did not turn out to be as fruitful as it was estimated. The O2 arena was almost empty but it did not break Mayweather’s spirit to put on a great show.
‘Money’ Mayweather made sure to express his gratitude to the people in the United Kingdom and was thankful to everyone who helped in making this event a successful one. The fact that it was just an exhibition match did not faze the legend one bit.

Now during the event, the cameras were cautious to pan out only toward the filled-up seats. So as to not publicize the low turnout as blatantly. Many believe that the major reason for this could be the overlapping of the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight, taking place in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. There were some things that were tried out to attract attention to this fight.
But regardless of everything, Floyd Mayweather announced in the ring that, the United Kingdom has become one of the biggest hubs around the world. And he wouldn’t think twice to come again and give his UK fans another great fight that they deserve.

And it was still quite an entertaining fight, as even Chalmers gave his all in this fight against a boxing legend like Mayweather. It goes without saying, Mayweather showcased his skills in the fight, and there was a time in between rounds when he literally sat on the top rope, instead of choosing to sit down on the stool. Notably, it was to tell the world how easy this is for the 46-year-old boxer.
