“Don’t Price Yourself Out”: Dmitry Bivol’s Remarks on Canelo Alvarez vs. John Ryder Doesn’t Sit Well With Boxing World

Canelo Alvarez suffered the second loss of his career at the hands of the Russian boxer, Dmitry Bivol in 2022. Canelo had moved up in weight for this particular bout, but Alvarez couldn’t live up to the challenge as Bivol easily worked his way around the fierce head movements of Canelo Alvarez. Bivol holds the WBA (Super) World Light Heavyweight title under his name since 2017, and he’s a boxer who hasn’t faced any loss in his professional career yet. But now, Alvarez is determined to avenge his loss.

Just before the Canelo Alvarez vs. John Ryder bout, Dmitry Bivol made a post on Twitter. He stated how the opponent for this fight has been hand-picked by Alvarez’s team. Bivol told fans not to expect anything extraordinary but it’ll be a good show to see Alvarez making his comeback in his homeland.

After the Ryder fight, Canelo clarified that the Bivol rematch is still his top priority. But this time, he’s hoping for a different outcome, given that the last time he fought him, he claimed to have suffered a wrist injury. He’s also stalling David Benavidez for the Bivol rematch to happen and has stated on multiple occasions that he’ll look in the direction of ‘The Mexican Monster’ only when the Bivol fight is done or it cannot happen due to some reasons.
