The dynamics of the heavyweight division have completely changed ever since Anthony Joshua lost to Oleksandr Usyk in September this year. This is because, prior to this fight, Joshua’s team was on the brink of booking a fight with Tyson Fury for the undisputed title. But, with ‘AJ’s devastating loss, his potent matchup with Fury went off the cards.

Now, Usyk is the unified heavyweight champ, whereas Fury is the WBC heavyweight champ. For the past couple of months, Fury and his team have shown interest in chasing an undisputed fight with ‘The Cat’.

However, Joshua, who’s exercised his rights to a rematch with Usyk, isn’t willing to step aside. However, the big man is willing to move ahead to let Fury vs Usyk happen only if he has a mammoth amount on the table. Also, it is reported that Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, asked for a £40 million step aside offer.

Recently, Frank Warren, who also promotes Fury, was in a chat with Boxing King Media. Here, he responded to Hearn in his own eccentric way.

He said, “I’ve got no faults on £30. Was it £40 million? Good luck.”

“What £40 million? Yeah, I mean I suppose he keeps, was he smoking wacky backy when he said that?”

Joshua is hungry to settle his scores with the Ukrainian boxing stalwart. But an enticing amount might push him out of the picture to let Fury fight Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight throne.

Frank Warren willing to offer a ‘sensible’ amount to Anthony Joshua for stepping aside

In the above interview, Warren later added about putting a sensible amount on the table for ‘AJ’. He said, ”If Joshua steps aside for sensible money now I’m quite sure we can do it.”

Joshua is ardent about booking his rematch. But, the step aside money his team asked for might not go well with Warren and Fury‘s team.

That said, the possibility of the hard hitter stepping aside seems unlikely. However, the coming few weeks will determine what will actually happen in this intriguing heavyweight division.
