“Good Luck to Him”- Anthony Joshua Says Jake Paul Is ‘Great for Boxing’

Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua doesn’t mind Jake Paul’s surging rise in the field of combat sports. Although several pro-pugilists have denounced the social media star’s advent into boxing, Joshua has expressed a very different opinion, sending his love and support towards the 24-year-old.
An Olympic gold medalist and currently a three-belt unified world champion, Anthony Joshua, has evolved through the amateur chain to become an A-list professional boxer. Hence, he applauded Jake Paul’s courage in taking up pro-boxing without having an amateur experience.
That said, Paul hasn’t competed against any of the pro-pugilists so far. But his 4-0 record has already seen him surpass two former MMA world champions in the ring. Thus, Joshua couldn’t help himself from applauding Jake Paul in interaction with IFL TV.

Anthony Joshua said, “Great for Boxing. He is trying, zero amateur experience, throwing himself in the deep end. He will probably learn a lot more than a lot of fighters. Throwing himself in the deep end, putting himself under pressure. Good luck to him.” (H/T:- DAZN boxing)
Meanwhile, Joshua’s Brit counterpart, Tyson Fury, might not share the same feeling regarding Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ and Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy Fury is already in a heated altercation and can soon land up opposite each other. Furthermore, Paul’s recent performance against Tyron Woodley wasn’t very dominant, and that has put him into vicious clutches of criticisms.

Nevertheless, Anthony Joshua is all praises for Jake Paul. Thus, that’s an added inspiration for Paul to continuing his journey. But there’s a huge debate going on regarding the removal of celebrity boxing and exhibition fights after the latest Triller event. So, things seem messy to some extent at this point.

Is Anthony Joshua right about Jake Paul and boxing?
In the recent Triller event, we saw a 58-year-old Evander Holyfield fall before Vitor Belfort in a horrific knockout loss. It urged many to ask why sanctioning bodies had allowed the former champion to return at this age. Many people also belittled the recent trends of celebrity boxing and crossover matchups.
However, Jake Paul has already proven to be a profitable name at the Box Office. So, matchmakers will want him to remain active. But unless he starts facing professional punchers, Jake Paul’s chances for growth appear bleak in the combat world.
