Michael Benson tweeted early today, “His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has now launched an 8-bit Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou online game ahead of the fight on March 8th.” It didn’t take much time for aficionados to hit the comment box with their thoughts.

Anthony Joshua took his stock to a new level last year after securing three consecutive wins. Especially the last two victories, both early stoppages, attested to his return to the big league. Talks of a fight for the IBF title with Filip Hrgovic started making waves. But soon news came that Anthony Joshua would be Francis Ngannou’s opponent for a non-title bout.

‘The Predator’, on the other hand, pulled a major surprise in October last year. All the viewers were pushed to the edge of their seats by his dazzling performance during his debut boxing fight against Tyson Fury. He literally made the WBC world heavyweight champion scrape through a contest that many considered should have been a boxing clinic on display.

The Cameroonian-French fighter became a free agent last year after his departure from the UFC, where he held the heavyweight championship.

Virtual Contemplations

From the comments, it was easy to see that most fans and followers were quite excited about the updated news. But that didn’t prevent a few from extending their imaginations.

For instance, this user seems to be pleading if someone could request HE Turki Alalshikh to call up Canelo Alvarez and get the fight with David Benavidez going!

The next user also echoes similar sentiments, asking whether the Chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment could bring about the Alvarez-Benavidez bout.

But then a few genuinely appreciated the efforts to promote the big fight on March 8.

Then a user probably decided to take a dig at Anthony Joshua.

But then the following user seemed unhappy with the Cameroonian-French fight, supposedly receiving preferential treatment over Anthony Joshua.

Francis Ngannou’s debut performance has surely added a layer of suspense to the upcoming bout. If he could keep a reigning world champion in check, then could he finally be able to turn the tables on a former unified champion? Next weekend, fans will finally get to know.

The Anthony Joshua-Francis Ngannou fight now has added criticality. The winner will get a chance to stake a claim at the undisputed title. Though earlier scheduled for February 17, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will now fight on May 18. The fight will decide the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years. Hence, the winner of the match might soon have to defend his title from either ‘AJ’ or ‘The Predator’.
