Miguel Marriaga has fought two big names in the division. Back in 2017, Marriaga faced off against ‘The Matrix’ Vasyl Lomachenko in a super-featherweight title bout. Lomachenko simply outclassed the Colombian inside the ring to retain his belts. In the same year, Marriaga faced off against another champion for a title shot, Oscar Valdez.

However, Lomachenko put on a show and completely outboxed and outclassed Marriaga, forcing the Colombian to quit just before the start of round 8.

Vasyl Lomachenko walked away from the fight with an impressive $750,000 purse. Marriaga, on the other hand, made $50,000 from the fight.

Miguel Marriaga vs Oscar Valdez Purse – How much did they earn? 

WBO champion Oscar Valdez always wondered if he could go the distance with an elite fighter. Well, in April 2017, he got what he wanted as he fought the tough Colombian Miguel Marriaga over 12 grueling rounds for the WBO title.

Marriaga put on a good performance against the champ. However, Valdez displayed great tenacity, stamina, and power throughout the fight.

In the 10th round of the fight, he dropped the Colombian, who recovered and somehow lasted two more rounds. In the end, Valdez won via decision and showed the world that he could take the fight for 12 whole rounds and beat elite fighters. There is, however, no information on how much the two fighters earned from their title fight.
