Floyd Mayweather, a name synonymous with boxing greatness, has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the sport for over two decades. From the early stages of his career to becoming the face of boxing, Mayweather’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Throughout his illustrious career, he faced numerous challenges, but none as defining as his showdown against multi-weight division champ Diego Corrales, also known as ‘Chico’, in January 2001.

At the time of the fight, Corrales was considered a legitimate threat to Mayweather’s rising status. With a physical advantage and an impressive track record, he seemed poised to push ‘Pretty Boy’ into uncharted territory. In the lead-up to the fight, ‘Money’ also actively engaged in trash talk, seeking to derail Corrales mentally. While some might view such tactics as controversial, it was clear that his intentions were to assert his dominance and gain a psychological edge.
