The former Bellator contender, Anthony Taylor, who has now shifted his attention towards boxing, will take on Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy Fury in a Showtime PPV on August 29. Taylor is clearly not the first martial artist to have joined the boxing club, but he raised several eyebrows by revealing some uncanny insights about his move.
Anthony Taylor has sparred with Jake Paul throughout the build-up of this camp. That said, he tagged the financial payment as a prime reason behind this shift. Having fought in Bellator and many more MMA organizations across the globe, Taylor explained how sparring with Jake Paul was more beneficial to his bank account.

Anthony Taylor said, “Look, I got paid more money sparring with Jake [Paul] than I did in my six years career of MMA. Fighting with Bellator, fighting for different organizations. Look, Jake could have called any other guy in the world for sparring. From England to Bangladesh to Australia to China. But he called me.”
Mike Tyson Says This Man Can Put Together the Most Important Fights in Boxing
In the past, several UFC fighters like Jon Jones, Jorge Masvidal, and many others have voiced their disregard towards the payments in the MMA world. On comparing it to the boxing community, boxers relish hefty pay-checks, whereas MMA fights often need to look for charitable sponsorships. Meanwhile, several ex-UFC fighters have taken to the squared circle.
After Conor McGregor’s windfall from the fight against Floyd Mayweather in 2017, Anderson Silva, Ben Askren, Anthony Taylor, Tyron Woodley, and many more have joined the force. That said, we can see more martial artists come over to the boxing world in the future.
Can Anthony Taylor and Jake Paul have success on Fight Night?
While Taylor goes against Tommy Fury in the undercard, Jake Paul will compete against former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in a cruiserweight headliner. Both men, who have trained together, seem confident about getting the wins in their respective fights. However, their opponents will offer a sheer challenge from the other end.

Tommy Fury, undefeated as a professional, will walk in as the favorite against the debutant in Taylor. Meanwhile, Tyron Woodley might have his easiest opponent on board in Jake Paul. Hence, they can walk in with no pressure, fight without any expectations, and succeed in Ohio on August 29.
