For over 2 years, former four-division world champion, Adrien Broner, has been on a hiatus from the sport that made him a widely talked about boxer. His struggles with mental health have had a major hand in the same. Broner recently opened up about his road to recovery and even teased the idea of stepping into the ring once again. However, it looks like this road has been an arduous one.

In a recent Instagram post, Broner, who recently signed with promoter Don King, detailed his struggles in his quest to step inside the boxing ring once again. He mentioned that he has been fighting against himself. And, in turn, found out that it was not going to be an easy task.

Broner said, “I just got to cut off all my vices. I have quite a few. And I look at them like cancer because yeah one day I can cut them out. But, they can always come back more effective than before. And be the cause of my death. Or be the death to my gift and talent god gave me.”

‘The Problem’ later went on to detail his vices, namely alcohol addiction, sexual temptation, and gambling. Moreover, he went on to add that he would be unable to work on himself if he did not take accountability for the said vices. Additionally, he apologized to his coach, promoter, and fans. And also mentioned that he would be working extra hard to ‘live or die’ with boxing.

Fans were undoubtedly intrigued to see Broner detail his vices and his struggles. In fact, a lot of them took to the comments to share their thoughts about the same. A user named Boss Rick Ross quickly extended support, by saying, “We with you my brother.” Similarly, Juna Rodriguez had a newfound respect for Broner. He mentioned, “I used to hate your guts and now I see you different!!! And I hope you get that AB arrogance back .”

Meanwhile, a user named Lee commended him for taking accountability. He said, “It takes a lot to admit you’re wrong in anything especially life that’s growth. Keep God first everything else will fall in order.”

However, not everyone was happy with Broner’s statements. A user mentioned, “Stop humiliating yourself like you don’t have your life under control. Get back in the gym and lock in.” And, another added, “Bro I’m not interested in what you got to say. I’m gonna hit the unfollow you really lost me as a fan.”
