“It Is Embarrassing”: Tyson Fury Blasted for Rejecting ‘Fair’ Purse Split for Oleksandr Usyk Fight, Told to Prove Himself He Is a ‘Proper Fighting Man’

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk has been the much-awaited bout ever since Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua. The talks accelerated after ‘The Cat’ defeated AJ the second time and Fury came out of retirement to win his fight against Derek Chisora. Though, it seems unlikely that the fight would take place any time soon. It is reported that both Fury and Usyk’s team have not “come into an agreement”.

Ever since the news got public, Fury has been receiving some criticism from fans. The fans are eagerly waiting to see the two best heavyweights square off against each other to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Fury is now being called out for not being a “proper fighting man”.

Adam Catterall challenges Tyson Fury to fight Oleksandr Usyk

Fury hails from a fighting family and is considered to be one of the all-time heavyweight greats. One may argue that he must not end his career without trying his hand to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. Boxing journalist, Adam Catterall shares the same sentiments as he called out Fury for not signing the fight.

In an episode of the “fight disciples” podcast, Catterall stated, “For a man that has been going around saying fight this dude for free. Saying I am a proper fighting man. Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere. Prove it.”

“If it doesn’t happen it’s embarrassing for boxing and embarrassing for Tyson Fury,” he further said.

“And think of the history, undisputed heavyweight champion. Doesn’t get better than that in the sport,” Adam Catterall concluded by saying.

Catterall vehemently advocated for the fight being a 50-50 share of the revenue between both the competitors.

John Fury, Father of Tyson Fury explained what is halting his son to sign on the dotted lines. In an interview, he stated, “That’s what the delay is with Tyson – they won’t pay him what he’s worth. They want him for nothing. They want to make the money, they want the lion’s share and to give Tyson the small end.”

One can only hope that the negotiations phase comes to an end and both fighters agree to sign the dotted line. Their potential bout would be historic with either of them having the chance to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
