Irish heavyweight boxer Kevin McBride will return to action against former champion Evander Holyfield in the undercard of Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr. on June 5. Putting a quell on his 10-year long inactivity, ‘The Clones Colossus’ appears confident about going against ‘The Real Deal’.
However, he has chalked up some bigger plans ahead and is open to re-matching Mike Tyson somewhere down the line. Boasting a record of 35-10-1, Kevin McBride may not be in the elite club as he has never won a world title. Nevertheless, the Irishman, who got a crack at ‘Iron’ Mike in 2005, is eager to face the challenge once again.
In the recent Triller press conference, McBride revealed the reason he ended his retirement. He thrilled several boxing fans with his fierce response.

“I do tree work and I am strong. You know, I picked things up and put things down. But I got the opportunity to fight Evander Holyfield. You know I love boxing so much and this is a great chance to show and that I can do well against Evander and then hopefully, Mike Tyson want to come off the stool and have a rematch and fight me. Let’s get the job done,” said Kevin McBride.

Although Evander Holyfield has also beaten Mike Tyson, McBride’s win was monumental as it was ‘Iron’ Mike’s swansong. While a 54-year-old Tyson has already staged his return against Roy Jones Jr, a rematch with McBride can further attract his interest given that he is 0-1 against the Irish puncher.
