KSI might have lost the battle to Tommy Fury in the ring but on the internet? The Brit makes sure to muzzle his former opponent down. In a very cheeky post, the 30-year-old, rapper-youtuber turned his personal struggle into an opportunity to take a dig at Fury.

In October last year, ‘JJ’ went against Fury in a Manchester, crossover bout. While the fight had not a lot to provide for ardent boxing fans, given how one-sided it was, the lead-up to it was more enthralling than the bout itself. After some bottle hurling and spitting between the clans, when fight night finally arrived, KSI did everything but box his opponent. As expected, 24-year-old Fury maintained his undefeated status and went home victorious via a unanimous decision. While the hostility between the two clans still persists today, KSI held no qualms in unleashing some verbal violence. However, this time, his attack, while witty, was also rather personal.

Since 2015 vs. Since 2019

Earlier today, Londoner, KSI, told his fanbase via an Instagram story that he had undergone an impending dental procedure. He explained that he was to get the surgery done back in 2015, even before his debut in the ring. However, he persevered until now. Post the recovery from this surgery, he hopes to reach the glories of his career.

Posting an image of him, his mouth wrapped in a bandage, he wrote, “Since 2015 I have been dealing with a toothache that I’ve never spoken about/shared online. Since my first professional fight I have been trying to manage this injury, training and fighting through extreme pain which led me to often not being able to box at all. For the last four weeks of my last camp I was only able to do jumping jacks until fight night. This morning I underwent the surgery I’ve been putting off for years as I know this is the only way my tooth will heal and that I can move forward with my boxing career. I’m excited for my recovery journey and so ready to be back feeling and giving 100% in 2024.”

Hold up! Sounds familiar? Well, it should. These are the same words his former opponent, the Lancashire-based fighter, Tommy Fury, wrote a few days ago when he underwent hand surgery. This post on X by Happy Punch draws the hilarious parallels between KSI’s post and that of ‘TNT’. They captioned the post, “KSI trolling Tommy Fury.”

KSI’s verbal punches have hit their intended mark precisely. Is this his method of retaliating against the man who handed him the first loss of his short-lived career? A loss in a fight where he believes he was unfairly judged.

First, the fight, then the appeals; what did KSI lose to TNT?

When the points were not in his favor, KSI cried foul. He claimed that the fight was stolen from him. While initially, the results came in a split decision; they were however translated into a unanimous decision. Not ready to concede, JJ appealed, but the results remained unchanged.

A statement from the Professional Boxing Association read: “The PBA confirms that an independent review panel, consisting of two of the country’s leading King’s Counsel and a third lawyer, has determined that there are no grounds to overturn the KSI vs Tommy Fury fight result from October 14, 2023.”
