Sunny Edwards put on a show for the world of boxing as he walks through his Chilean opponent, Andres Campos this Saturday. There were a lot of times when the IBF Flyweight World Champion’s performance felt more like a masterclass of boxing, rather than an official bout. Edwards surprised his opponent with quick footwork and got into his opponent’s head with showboating while hitting him with a barrage of combinations. The boxer gave a technical spectacle throughout to his fans, but as it turned, the audience present at Wembley’s OVO Arena didn’t appreciate what they had in front of them.

There are reports that a lot of fans left the stadium by the time the fight was over. But as it turned this didn’t faze the World Champion one bit, as he posted a tweet recently. In the tweet, he wrote, “They said I’m so good it’s boring…” Then he flexed his undefeated record of 20-0. Although, there were some fans who were impressed by his performance against Campos.

Under that tweet, the 2018 Commonwealth Gold Medalist Australian boxer, Skye Nicolson left a comment where she stated that she looks at Edwards’s fight as a great win. Especially, he’s got “money in the bank” with all his “brain cells in tact“.

But there were a number of fans, that did not agree with this fact. And still, commented on his post, branding the Edwards vs. Campos as one of the most “boring” fights of this year. Let’s look into some of them.

Mixed reactions pour in for Sunny Edwards

One of the fans, Steve Spooner ‘Spoonyman’, stated that a good fight consists of knockdowns, and Edwards’ fight didn’t have any sort of good exchange. Hence, the user deemed the fight to be “boring“.

Another fan, FOYS, stated that other people are not wrong when they didn’t find the fight entertaining.

One fan, Jacob Jones, stated that they got to know that a good number of the crowd was leaving the Arena mid-fight.

While between all the thwarting down, Jay Riley gave Edwards some constructive criticism.

As they wrote that Edwards should really try for the Knockouts in his upcoming bouts, rather than just playing it all technical.

Another fan, stan dunbar, also supported Edwards as they gave the example of Floyd Mayweather, who is also considered a boring fighter by many fans.

Well, many times, the fans become upset with fighters because of their techniques. It becomes difficult to fathom the fact that every boxer is not a brawler.
