Oleksandr Usyk is currently back in his homeland, Ukraine where he fired a mortar shot in the grounds of the warfare. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began in the February of 2022, and the war is still going on. Usyk joined the Kyiv Territorial Defence so that he can also contribute to the country’s protection. But then he had to leave his country to make an appearance in Saudi Arabia for his rematch against Anthony Joshua. Since then, he has had no fight scheduled. Recently, he was to face Tyson Fury but the fight didn’t come to fruition.

Although Usyk agreed to the deal of a 70/30 purse split, and Fury announced his social media break so that he could start training for the fight against Usyk, they somehow couldn’t come to terms with each other. This resulted in the fight which was scheduled to happen on April 30 falling apart. Now Usyk seems to have moved on and is back in Ukraine.

His video with his soldier friends has gone viral among the fans where he’s seen trying his hands on the mortar. Many users came forward and also accused Usyk of being afraid of Tyson Fury and doing everything except getting inside the ring against ‘the Gypsy King’.
