WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury doesn’t have an official opponent on sight but he’s likely to face either Dillian Whyte or Oleksandr Usyk ahead. A fight against Usyk will fetch him a shot at the undisputed tag, and ‘The Gypsy King’ has already begun his mental game towards it.

Ignoring his WBC mandatory Dillian Whyte, Fury has sent a clear message to Usyk, who is in New York, to support Vasyl Lomachenko this weekend. Newly crowned WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight champion, Usyk received a call-out from Tyson Fury.
6’9” giant Fury face-timed his trainer Sugar Hill while he was in the MSG beside Oleksandr Usyk. No wonder things got interesting between the reigning heavyweight world champions.

Tyson Fury said, “Hey Oleksandr, Oleksandr the great. Tell Oleksandr, I am coming. The great is coming to New York city.”

Fury and Usyk can possibly collide in a four-belt unification fight, a bout that can label the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis. However, several factors can turn it off. Besides Dillian Whyte’s WBC mandatory spot, former champion Anthony Joshua also has a massive role in the whole plot.
Following his loss against Usyk for the heavyweight titles, AJ is reportedly assigned a rematch. But several reports verify that he can walk away and let Fury and Usyk compete for the undisputed fight. Joshua hasn’t announced anything officially. Hence, Fury-Usyk is still up in the air. Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have recently scored historic titles win under a gap of two months. They can take a lay-off and rightly return in a while.

When can we expect Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in action again?
Well, the current heavyweight scenario is in massive turmoil. Several top-tier opponents are lurking over the titles and anyone can pop up into the scene. This has turned things complex for matchmakers and even the contenders. However, Usyk’s WBA, WBO, and IBF titles won’t allow him to remain out of action for much longer.

Anthony Joshua needs to come up with a solution. If he demands the re-match, we can expect Usyk in action in mid-2022. In a different case, Usyk can opt to defend his belt or unify it against Tyson Fury.

As for ‘The Gypsy King’, Dillian Whyte holds the key to bringing him in flow. But ‘The Body Snatcher’ is just one of the names on a long list of opponents. Fury can wait and see how the whole scene plays out and then decide on his comeback plans.
