Ryan Garcia proved his worth yet again on Saturday night against the Brit Luke Campbell. ‘King Ry’ landed a massive body shot on his opponent to send him down to his knees. Garcia gathered millions of eyeballs and applause with this performance.
However, the lightweight king Teofimo Lopez and his father Teofimo Lopez Sr. were unimpressed with the youngster’s performance. Lopez Sr. fumed over Garcia for his dreadful performance. He felt Luke Campbell didn’t look in his natural element, but still dropped Garcia in round 2 of the fight.

In a chat with Bad Left Hook, Lopez Sr. opened up on ‘King Ry’s Saturday night bout.
He said, “What grade do I give Ryan? An A? No, no grade. Luke Campbell was a fighter that was nothing like the guy who fought Jorge Linares or Lomachenko, that was a washed-up Luke Campbell. And Luke still dropped Ryan!”
In response to whether Garcia’s still the young gun and kingpin of boxing. Lopez Sr. added, “Hell no, Don’t come over here and tell me he’s the king of boxing.”
He asserted Garcia needs to take on genuine contenders like his son to build a core boxing resume.
