Devin Haney successfully defended his title against Vasyl Lomachenko in a controversial win. These two went the distance with each other. And delivered a fight for the fans to remember. But, despite his best efforts, the Ukranian was unable to turn the fight result in his favor. However, leading up to the fight, Haney’s behavior at the face-off ahead of their fight was drawing the attention of the fans. The environment at the final face-off got heated between the two. And, even though Loma kept his calm, Haney ended up losing it and shoved the 35-year-old and walked off the stage.

However, Haney ended up paying for his behavior and incurred a fine of $400k for the shove. It panned out to be an expensive move for the undisputed lightweight champion. And an amount like that is no joke. And it is a decent amount of money, even if you’re the undefeated champion. Former undisputed champion Claressa Shields is still in disbelief at the amount the 24-year-old had to pay for the shove.

Claressa Shields is in disbelief at the $400k fine

Claressa Shields took to her Twitter to show her disapproval of the outrageous amount of fine Haney had to pay for his behavior at the weigh-in for the fight. And she even went to the extent of calling it a “robbery.” She reshared a tweet of Haney discussing the fine. And added her opinion.

Shields wrote, 400k for a damn push! Mannnn, that’s daylight, Robbery. It seems like Shields can’t digest the fact that Haney had to pay close to half a million dollars for a “push.”It should be noted that fines are put in place to promote fair sportsmanship in the sport.

Shields has been a supporter of Haney for a long time. And, undoubtedly, he was her choice going into the fight against Loma. The 28-year-old agreed with the ‘Dream’ on his views on abstinence before a fight. Shields will be stepping foot inside the ring in a rematch against Hanna Gabriels on 3rd June.
