UFC welterweight title contender, Jorge Masvidal, is a huge fan of the boxing legend, Mike Tyson. This might be due to the two sharing a lot of similarities in their fighting style and personality. ‘Gamebred’ is regarded as one of the best boxers in the UFC, and was also the holder of the BMF title, while Tyson was widely touted as the most ferocious boxer in the history of the sport.

Masvidal is particularly a fan of Tyson and boxing as he regularly shares infamous and popular incidents of boxing. Recently, he posted a video, which showcased the former 3-division world champion, Ann Wolfe. He shared a video of her infamous knockout of Vonda Ward. Masvidal praised Wolfe in the post claiming that she was a female version of Tyson. Masvidal captioned it, “JESUS CHRIST!?!?!!!!”
In the fight, Wolfe was pitted against Vonda Ward, an undefeated champion at the time. Moreover, Ward towered over Wolfe with her 6-foot-6-inch frame but was knocked out by an overhand right.
To this day, this knockout is regarded as the greatest KO in women’s boxing. Wolfe was certainly a pioneer in women’s boxing, paving the way for future fighters to pick up the sport. However, her power and ferocious style was the reason she gets compared to the legendary, ‘Iron Mike’.
Who will Jorge Masvidal face next?
Despite experiencing a resurgence in his career after his iconic KO over Ben Askren, Masvidal has seemingly taken a hit. The ‘Gamebred’ has lost his last three bouts, losing two fights to the former UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, and recently got trumped by his bitter rival, Colby Covington, back in March. He has not competed in a bout since then, citing nagging injuries as the problem.

However, there are several opponents he could face, if he were to return. A fight against former title challenger, Gilbert Burns, can be on the table as he revealed his interest in taking on Masvidal. Moreover, with Usman losing his title to Leon Edwards, a trilogy fight between the two for the number one contender could also be in the books.
