Vasyl Lomachenko is currently preparing for his December 11 showdown against Richard Commey at the Madison Square Garden. This fight is very important for Lomachenko as a win will further his case for a title shot.

The newly crowned unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. is next on his hit list. With Teofimo Lopez out of the picture for a rematch, Lomachenko is the perfect next opponent for Kambosos Jr.

Per Michael Benson, Lomachenko said: “Undisputed world champion, this is my motivation. Of course, I want this [George Kambosos Jr] fight, but first of all I have a fight on Dec 11th and my focus is on this fight. After this fight, I can talk about my future.”

Besides Vasyl ‘The Matrix’ Lomachenko vs Richard Commey, the December 11 card in New York will also feature upcoming prospects. Nico Ali Walsh, Muhammad Ali’s grandson, will be fighting on the undercard. Puerto Rican boxing prospect Xander Zayas will also be fighting on the undercard in just over a week.

Hence, the card is loaded and fight fans can expect a blockbuster.

The former champion said, “It is always special when I fight at Madison Square Garden, where so many great moments in my career have taken place.”
