Vasyl Lomachenko squared off with Richard Commey in an extraordinary 12-round slugfest. Here, the favorite Lomachenko won the fight in a sensational fashion, putting himself back in the title race. Now, the big question is if ‘Loma’ is ready for a fight against the unified lightweight kingpin, George Kambosos Jr.?

Commey and Lomachenko’s fight was important because the winner might meet ‘Ferocious’ in his next outing itself.

In his post-fight interview too, Lomachenko looked keen about his wish to fight for the title.

He said, ”I said before. I don’t like talking about myself. We have, in this weight division, we have lot of great fighters, we have a lot of top fighters, so we can organize lot of great fights in the future.”

Later, he was asked about his interest in the undisputed fight. To which he replied, “Yes, of course. Of course, I need this chance, and if God gives me this chance, I take it.”

From the first bell itself, Lomachenko looked sharp with his prowess against Commey. He used his signature slip and counter, complementing it with his sublime movements. ‘Loma’ did face the power coming off ‘RC’s hands. However, he seemed unfazed by the same.

Vasyl Lomachenko even dropped Commey in round 7, and this was the time when he truly turned the fight in his favor. Post that, he only kept a fair punching accuracy to not let Commey dictate the pace of the fight.

As a result, the southpaw ended up winning this fight to put himself in an exuberant spot to go ahead for a title shot.
