Standing at 5’5 ½, Gervonta Davis is a force of power, precision, and brutality when put inside the squared circle of boxing. The 26-year-old is a three-division world champion with a record-setting 24 knockouts in an unbeaten resume of  25-0. That said, all of it has come in less than a decade, which touts Davis as one of the most vicious punchers of the modern era.

Although several people believe ‘Tank’ will restrict himself to a certain weight class for his physical attributes, the Baltimore native has constantly proved them wrong by pushing his limits. Despite having a smaller physical frame, Davis has beaten world champions at 135 lbs and 140 lbs. His recent win has come against Mario Barrios, a 5’10 tall boxer who was undefeated before getting in the ring against Tank.

So, how does Gervonta Davis hone himself to battle bigger fighters? The answer lies within his sparring sessions at the Mayweather stable. As known, ‘Tank’ goes against umpteen bigger fighters at the gym. He is not new to beating them in his signature style. There’s a reason Davis finishes most of his fights, and that gets sheerly reflected in his sparring sessions.

As of now, Davis is one of the most promising undefeated world champions of this era. His KO abilities further make him one of the hardest hitters. But he is yet to test himself against some of his best contemporaries and unless he does that, there will remain doubts regarding his supremacy.

What’s next for Gervonta Davis?

Although Davis is on the brink of materializing several fantasy matchups, his promoter Floyd Mayweather seems to have unique plans. Per Mayweather’s claims, he will host Davis against fighters from PBC, to keep the profits in-house. So, it can curb many of those fantasy bouts from happening.

Starting from Teofimo Lopez, Josh Taylor to Ryan Garcia, several undefeated fighters can offer a tough challenge to Davis. But they all reside in other promotions. Therefore, that can prevent the fights from taking place. For now, only the future can unveil a clear picture.
