The barrage of disappointing news continues for Conor Benn. The reigning WBA continental Welterweight champion has found himself in an unlikely situation yet again. He made headlines last year when he tested positive for a banned substance in his drug test. This not only took away the Chris Eubank Jr fight from him but started a new dynamic in the Brit’s professional career. Even though he was relieved of the failed drug test accusations, not all problems were solved for Benn, as he still hasn’t reinstated his British license from the UKAD. And, if that was not enough to add to his list of problems, WBC had another disappointing news for the 25-year-old.
The sanctioning body recently revealed its rankings of professional boxers. Benn was not included in those rankings. Even though many claimed to know the reason for Benn’s exclusion, the WBC President recently opened up about why the Brit was not included in the rankings this time.

Benn’s inactivity comes to play in his exclusion
In an interview with Skysports, WBC’s president Mauricio Sulaiman opened up about why the WBC did not include Benn in its latest world rankings. And according to him, his inactivity in the sport is one of the reasons he is missing from the latest world rankings.
Sulaiman said, “It seems there is no scheduled fight at this moment, but Conor may contact the WBC to explain his case, and his ranking situation may be addressed as a rating appeal its process.” It seems like Benn needs to schedule his return to the boxing ring to reinstate himself in the world rankings.

However, it should be noted that Benn is yet to have his British boxing license reinstated by the UKAD. And, as of now, the anti-doping agency is waiting for the champ to prove his innocence to them. It seems like Benn has a number of doors he needs to go through to ensure his return is successful.

Benn’s battle with the UKAD
The anti-doping agency is waiting for the Brit to present his innocence. After he has proved his innocence, he will be allowed to fight again. Even though he was relieved of the charges before on account of the high consumption of eggs, it seems like the UKAD is not pleased with that reason. It should be noted that Benn is now working with scientists and specialists to ensure that he proves his innocence.
