On the 12th of August, Anthony Joshua would return against Dillian Whyte after his last fight against Jermaine Franklin Jr. in April. Of late, in an interview with DAZN Boxing, promoter Eddie Hearn called Whyte vs. Joshua a “massive” fight that British boxing crucially needed. In addition, Hearn claimed that with only three hours of sales, they were left with less than 100 tickets for the upcoming fight. Following the jaw-dropping claim mentioned, the chairman of Matchroom Sport has now reiterated Anthony Joshua’s commitment to boxing.

In his latest interview with IFL TV, Eddie Hearn announced that Anthony Joshua is as dedicated to the sport as he was before his defeats. In this connection, Hearn also explained why Joshua chose Deontay Wilder over Francis Ngannou.

Eddie Hearn states that “obsessed” Anthony Joshua has the ambition to become heavyweight champion again

Eddie Hearn recently interacted with Umar from IFL TV. By the by, the latter told Hearn that Joshua has lately declared money the be-all and end-all of his upcoming bout with Deontay Wilder. In Umar’s opinion, if Joshua could fight Wilder for loaves and fish, he should have taken the fight against Francis Ngannou too, since that fight would have also generated “loads of money“.

In a stern reply to Umar’s opinion, emphasizing Joshua’s commitment to boxing, Hearn said, “He wants to try and win a world heavyweight title. He wants to be in the biggest fights in boxing to cement his history and legacy in the sport. If he wanted a few quid, we could have done loads of stupid stuff. He is obsessed with trying to become the world heavyweight champion again.”

According to Hearn, Francis Ngannou does not support Anthony Joshua. In his opinion, at 50, Joshua can probably take such exhibition fights when he no longer wishes to hold a world title. While ‘AJ’ wishes to fight Wilder, Hearn also declared that they were still negotiating with the Saudis.
