When it comes to who Tyson Fury would be fighting next, even a Holmesian deduction might not help. The Mancunian returned from a mini-retirement to hand over Derek Chisora his third defeat in December 2022. Later, the big news that had every fan jumping for joy was an epic unification clash with the Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk. But unfortunately, the discussions to seal an agreement came apart. Since then, the name of one or the other fighter crops against Fury. The champion, who has often blamed the Ukrainian for avoiding him, is still seemingly peeved at the latter.
Tyson Fury is in Australia on the side of Heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker. His cousin Andy Lee incidentally trains Parker. The latter, who Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte have in the past defeated, got knocked out for the first time by Joe Joyce last year. Parker faced New Zealander Faiga Opelu yesterday and won the fight with a first-round stoppage. So during the pre-fight conference, a few questions landed in Fury’s kitty, who was present in the venue.

A scathing rebuke from Tyson Fury
Reporters asked him about a possible Usyk fight during the latter half of the year. Tyson Fury replied that he would hammer Usyk to such an extent that he would contemplate yielding unconditionally. However, according to ‘The Gypsy King, the fight might not even touch the sixth round. He firmly believes that everyone’s given Usyk undue recognition since he defeated Anthony Joshua twice.
According to the article on talkSPORT, he said, “… I’m not Joshua. I’m not some big, stiff guy who won’t let his hands go. I’d annihilate Usyk.” Incidentally, even talkSPORT’s online boxing editor Michael Benson tweeted Fury’s views on Oleksandr Usyk today, “I’ll punch Usyk’s face in any time. He’s a little f***ing p***y, and he won’t sign the contract because he knows he’d get this big fist in his face. [So] it’s an easy fight for me. I’d cut him down inside six, and he knows that. That’s why he’s running.”

Fans might picture an odd name out in the long Tyson Fury queue. Since he departed from the promotions, the former UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has expressed a severe keenness to enter the squared circle. So when asked about the possibility of a boxing match with the Cameroonian-French mixed martial artist,

Fury replied, “It’s an exciting match [up], and there’s definitely a realistic chance of myself and Francis fighting inside a boxing ring. I know he’s interested, I know there [are] a lot of conversations going on, and I’m very optimistic that [a] fight will happen this year.”
