The WBC Heavyweight Champion has always been vocal about his role of family in his triumphs throughout his boxing career. Tyson Fury has had a lot of ups and downs in his career but he’s overcome every single one of them with sheer resilience and support. Currently, he’s getting ready for his exhibition bout against the former UFC fighter, Francis Ngannou, which has been anticipated for a long time now. This bout has been scheduled after many hurdles as Fury hasn’t had a fight since December 2022, when he last stepped on the canvas against Derek Chisora.
Although the fans were disappointed after his negotiations with Oleksandr Usyk fell apart, Fury still managed to grab a lot of attention with the announcement of his upcoming fight. And to add to the hype, even Fury’s promoter talked about how Ngannou is capable of beating him in this upcoming bout. There have been many times when Fury has taken a long break. Tyson Fury dwells on how his family played an important role in his career
In the latest video of The Hook, Tyson Fury and his wife, Paris Fury, appeared to review legendary boxing movies. So after watching footage from ‘Creed’, the host of the show asked Tyson Fury about his comeback. In addition, he was also questioned about how his family had helped along his entire journey. To that, Fury agrees that he’s had a lot of comebacks in his career, and even said, “I come back more times than a boomerang.”
Then he went on about the importance of family. Fury stated, “The man who don’t spend time with his family is no man at all“.
Then he talked about the influence his family had on his boxing career, in two major ways.
Fury said that family helps him get through every fight. Also during the knockouts, it’s the biggest pillar of motivation for him to get up again.
He further revealed what he felt like at those moments, he said, “I’m like I got this, it ain’t over yet, just you wait.” So, now that it’s established that Fury has too many great comebacks. He has also survived a life of addiction and depression.

How Fury managed to win the toughest fight of his life?
In 2015, after defeating Wladimir Klitschko, Tyson Fury faced a certain setback as he went into severe depression. He was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Fury also indulged in substance abuse and alcohol, which later posed a lot of problems for him. He locked himself in a room and even had suicidal thoughts.
And at that point, he thought about his family and tried to give life one more chance. That’s when he sought medical help, and since then he’s been an advocate of mental health. According to talkSPORT, once on Instagram he even advised, “All the people out there on and off with it all, do yourself a bit of exercise, a bit of training. Put the drink down, put the drugs down, put everything down.”

So, Fury is now completely off any addictive substance and is one of the biggest role models out there. Now on October 28, Fury will be going against Francis Ngannou, and show the world that he’s known to be ‘The Gypsy King’ for a certain reason.
