Fans still remember the caustic parting as the Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk teams failed to reach an agreement to finalize their bout this year. Now, as it stands, the former awaits Francis Ngannou for an exhibition match. Conversely, the latter angled off to meet the mandatory challenge, which incidentally falls tomorrow. So, is it curtains off for one of the most anticipated fights of recent times? There remains a glimmer of hope, it seems. Letting bygones be bygones, the Ukrainian side apparently took the initiative to send the first feelers.

Finally, fans will glimpse Tyson Fury as he fights the former UFC Heavyweight champion on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The world champion has stayed put since last December’s title defense against Derek Chisora. Things could have been different had he gone ahead with the Oleksandr Usyk fight that seemed imminent early this year. The bitter exchanges might remain uneraseable from the pages of history.

Alex Krassyuk to Tyson Fury: Let’s settle the pending business for good

However, the fans may welcome any amends made to ensure what they always wanted to see. So Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, interacted with media representatives during the press conference in Poland. During the concluding minutes of his conversation with Boxing News, the channel’s reporter, Rob Tebbutt, asked Krassyuk to pass on a message to Tyson Fury.

Without wasting any time, the promoter presented the big picture to Fury. Congratulating the world champion on his new-found success on Netflix, the former implored him to pay heed to his good sense.

He said, “My friend Gypsy King Tyson Fury, you are a well-respected man, you are a champion, you are a celebrity, [and] your movie has been number one on Netflix for already eight or ten days, probably nine. You have to stop doing this; let’s get it done. Just give your consent to the fight and fight for the undisputed.

Many fans eagerly await a response from ‘The Gypsy King.’ At the opposite corner, noticeably, even if he succeeds in dispatching Daniel Dubois tomorrow, Oleksandr Usyk might have to partake in another eliminator against IBF International Heavyweight Filip Hrgovic before entering the road leading to Fury’s doorsteps. Of course, the Mancunian, too, on his part, needs to agree with the new deal.
