The video that he shared today early morning saddened not only him but many others as well. Initially shared by Twitter handle @stiff_jab_, the minute-long TikTok clip had Daniel Cormier talking about the tragic accident that took away the life of his three-month-old daughter in 2003.
Cormier recalled, “There was an accident on the highway and……that three people were injured, but there was only one fatality, and it was her. Just some guy being irresponsible. Not paying attention. The baby is strapped in exactly as she’s supposed to be….She dies at the scene. We buried Kaedyn in Killeen, Texas…”
Later, watching his daughter’s small casket, thoughts pierced his heart as to why “..stuff like that just keeps happening.”
Sunny Edwards found it simply heart-wrenching.

But few know that Cormier had to pay a heavy price to reach where he wanted to be. First, his father was a victim of homicide way back in 1986. Then, five years after his daughter’s demise, ‘DC’ himself went through a debilitating medical issue that could have killed him.
Thus despite severe personal setbacks, Daniel Cormier battled through and stands today among the greatest fighters in UFC’s history.
