Former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor trained with his coach John Kavanaugh and former Bellator fighter Dillon Danis. However, it seems that Danis might have destroyed the relationship between McGregor’s coach and MMA journalist Ariel Helwani after he made some bold accusations against the Jiu-Jutsu ace.

Danis recently made an appearance on Helwani’s show the MMA hour to promote his upcoming fight against YouTube sensation KSI. Despite that Helwani was quick to call ‘El Jefe’ out for destroying his relationship with their coach.
Ariel Helwani calls out Dillon Danis on his show
In the show, Helwani first revealed how Danis shared a personal meme of him which he found in bad taste. However, Danis defended himself stating what he said was true.

“You texted me saying oh you brought my wife into it when I said what was the fu***ng meme. I put, I said Ariel’s the kinda guy that hangs out with his wife’s boyfriend. It’s true though” said Danis.
However, Helwani then claimed that Danis’ actions broke his trust which in turn broke Kavanaugh’s trust in him resulting in the two never speaking again despite being on good terms before.
“You remember what really happened? Is you then went and told John Kavanaugh that I was saying some stuff and then John lost trust in me because you broke my fu**ng trust” said Helwani.
Despite Danis denying the validity of this claim, Helwani doubles down telling him to go ask Kavanaugh himself why their relationship soured.
“What do you mean it’s not true to go ask Kavanaugh? Kavanaugh stopped talking to me because of you” he added.
Helwani was certainly not happy with Danis and was quick to confront him on the show. This month has been a rocky ride for the MMA journalist getting into a feud with lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett.
Helwani fires back at Paddy Pimblett after getting called out
The journalist was recently called out by Pimblett on his podcast alongside UFC president Dana White. In the show, Pimblett claimed that Helwani wasn’t a real journalist and tried to make money off of fighters. However, Helwani fired back at the British star, responding with evidence to Paddy’s claims. In his show, he revealed some audio clips where Pimblett can be heard asking for an interview with him on a paid basis.

However, Helwani found the ask quite insulting and stated that he was never asked by any fighter for payment to appear on his show. This included big names like Conor McGregor, Jon Jones, and Daniel Cormier. Moreover, this would only turn out to be the start of a long-standing feud that does not look to end anytime soon.
