Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather could never really see eye to eye with each other. Well, both of the fighters made their names in the world of boxing through their hard work and determination, and it’s pretty grievous to see two legends not settle their differences.

Recently, Jorge Masvidal made a Facebook post about an awkward moment between the two boxers at the WBC Awards ceremony in 2014. And at that moment, Floyd Mayweather came out unvanquished, which motivated Masvidal to call Floyd Mayweather, “the greatest Boxer to ever walk the planet earth.” Well, many fans called it a casual fun gesture on Tyson’s end, while some think it was his failed attempt to intimidate Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

So, in an old video that was uploaded by ESNEWS in 2014, it can be seen that Mike Tyson charges Floyd Mayweather and tries to fake punch him at the WBC Awards. While Floyd Mayweather did not budge a muscle, as he was confident that Tyson would not punch him for real.

Jorge Masvidal posted this incident on his Facebook account as a testament to Floyd Mayweather’s greatness.

Mike Tyson, in the past, has called Floyd Mayweather a scared man, and also talked about how he doesn’t respect Mayweather much. And that was a possible reason, why Mike Tyson wasn’t a part of Floyd Mayweather’s Top 5 boxers list. And again recently, Floyd Mayweather’s controversial list caused an uproar among fans.

Masvidal branded Mayweather as the greatest boxer ever while reminding everyone of the meeting between Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather. This was opposed by a lot of boxing fans. One of the fans agrees with Masvidal but also acknowledges the presence of ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. They wrote, “Two of the greatest“.

Another fan reminded everyone of defensive ability of Mayweather. He wrote, “Greatest defensive boxer“.

One of them wrote, “He is the greatest defensive and points fighter, he did break both hands several times, the dude is smart and his head shape and body and stance are built for defense“.

Now nobody can deny that Mayweather is one of the best boxers. But there were some fans who were adamant that there were other great boxers who deserved to hold a better place in the rankings, than Floyd Mayweather.

Some fans did not agree with Jorge Masvidal

So there were many fans who found themselves in complete disagreement with Floyd Mayweather.

Fans put several names in the hat: legendary boxers like Robert Duran, Thomas Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Sugar Ray Robinson,

One fan wrote wrote, “floyd is not the greatest boxer to ever walk the earth. he would have lost to duran, hearns and ray leonard. also ray robinson“.

Another fan said Roy Jones Jr. is a better fighter. He wrote, “Nope. I’ll take Roy Jones jr. Any day over mayweather. Always manipulating who he fights“.

One of the fans wrote, “I don’t know what will happen when Floyd Mayweather lives in the era of Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, can he beat him? here is a great fighter undefeated but he loses the fight when he is outside his area.”

Another commenter wondered what would happen if Tyson and Mayweather fought each other. It read, “If you out those two in the ring, Mayweather would die“.

One fan said that everybody is getting too serious about such a casual thing. The commenter wrote, “It was just a stunt. Some are looking to much into it.”

Well, Floyd Mayweather definitely is a part of the creme de la creme of boxers, there is no doubt about that. But the same can be said about Mike Tyson.

The debate about who’s the best is good to have but it’s a vicious loophole with no definite answer to the question.
