Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: Lennox Lewis Predicts the Outcome With Help of Fight Simulation

It’s been over three years since he fought Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout. Come July 20, and Mike Tyson will enter the ring once again for a big fight. The youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history squares up against Jake Paul for a fight scheduled at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Needless to say, some quarters are yet to come to terms with the shocking news, given the sheer 30-year age gap between the two belligerents. But then, for a few, it’s an engagement that warrants equitable study, as it’s done for other fights.
22 years ago, Lennox Lewis doused Mike Tyson’s last attempt at becoming a world champion. As his old rival plans to step into the ring once again, the last undisputed heavyweight champion took an unusual step to foresee the tentative outcome of the July fight.

A few hours ago, through his Instagram handle, Lennox Lewis shared the footage of a simulated mixed martial arts fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. He said, “So I hear @miketyson will be fighting @jakepaul.” He expressed normal uncertainty over the eventual outcome. However, the former heavyweight champion nevertheless posited that Jake Paul-Mike Tyson has a high chance of following the fight simulator’s provisional verdict.

“Not quite sure how that will go, but it could be something like this,” said the British-Canadian legend. The clip begins with Jake Paul making his entry into the octagon. Soon, Mike Tyson follows. Bruce Buffer‘s usual announcement could be heard in the background. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is the main event of the evening. Its time! Five rounds for the undisputed UFC heavyweight championship of the world.”

One of the commentators remarked, “Iron Mike Tyson has graced the octagon.” Buffer makes a fleeting appearance in between. Once the referee, who looked like Herb Dean, checked, both fighters lunged forward. The moment they got close, a neat right overhand from ‘Iron’ Mike found its mark, sending ‘The Problem Child’ down to the canvas. The slow-motion replay of the contact shows how Tyson reached much before the right Paul threw simultaneously.
One of the users seemingly agreed with Lewis’s message. They said, “If it’s not rigged, this is exactly how it will go.” Then another follower highlighted how a much younger version of Tyson appeared in the simulation.

Incidentally, even Ryan Garcia, who himself has a big fight with Devin Haney coming up next month, believes in Mike Tyson’s victory. However, he also posited the only way Jake Paul could still usurp a win against the former heavyweight champion.
Ever since the announcement came, the fight has been gaining traction. Jake Paul will join after two successful outings against semi-retired professional boxers. Only time will tell whether his good run will continue or come to a halt against one of the most fearsome fighters in the history of combat sports.
