Jayson Tatum Has His Say on the Ejection Drama After Celtics’ 32-Point Victory Over Rockets
Boston Celtics faced the Houston Rockets on Saturday night and the former rained a hailstorm of points on the opponents. The final score stood at Celtics 145 to the Rockets’ 113. But besides the massive victory margin, officiating became the center of attention for fans, media, and experts. One controversial call was Jayson Tatum’s ejection.
While stepping on the hardwood as a player, Jayson Tatum often tries to ensure that he is his own lawyer as well. Previously too he was ejected for arguing with the referees. After he was ejected from the game against the Rockets, Tatum put together his solid defense against the call of the referee.

Jaylen Brown added 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in his 28-minute play. He paired perfectly with Jayson Tatum, who added 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in his 30-minute play before he was ejected. As the ejection drama unfolded, it made Tatum complain about not getting foul calls, and on the other hand, getting two technical fouls against him in a minute.
He commented on the issue, “Didn’t appreciate or like the no calls on those last two drives. I’m a very self-aware person. I understand the game was pretty much over and I had to stand up for myself.” Later, he also added, ” I wasn’t kicking shit over in the locker room.”

Tatum drove to the bucket and didn’t get the foul calls. He did not agree with the decision. Cam Whitemore appeared to foul him and Tatum kept complaining to the official to earn a tech. Later he kept talking during the technical foul free throw. Thus Tatum got the second tech of his night and an ejection. The ejection happened in the fourth quarter with 10:17 left in the play. He is likely to be charged with a fine. But it was not the first time that Tatum had to face such a situation.
The earlier ejections of Jayson Tatum
Tatum has been ejected from the game for arguing with referees twice earlier. the first one came against the New York Knicks when he argued with the referee when the Boston Celtics were leading with 21 points in the game. Tatum got his ejection after a 27-minute play in the game.

Later, on December 1, 2023, Jayson was ejected out of the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. With 2.6 seconds left in the third quarter, Jason kept arguing with the referees about the offensive foul calls against him. After the ejection, Tatum was pushed back as the coaches intervened to pacify the situation.
