While Shaquille O’Neal is among the greatest NBA players of all time, his children are embarking on their own basketball journey. Whether it is Shareef making it to the NBA G-League or Shaqir coming near the end of his collegiate career. However, another name will soon join the family “business”. But, before she does, she has a choice to make.
Showcasing one of the potential outcomes, the 18-year-old daughter of Shaquille O’Neal put on a Gators jersey. As a result, it caught the nation’s eye with special endorsement from her family members.

While he became a dominant player for teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat, Shaq began his basketball life as a generational talent at the college level. Showing off his insane athleticism en route to an NCAA Tournament Player of the Year recognition, O’Neal was at his best representing Louisiana State University.
His first daughter, Taahirah was more inclined toward the studio side. As a result, she graduated Magna cum laude from Oglethorpe University with a degree in Sociology. His most successful son, millionaire model/DJ Myles studied acting at Santa Monica College. But, his first child to take up basketball full-time didn’t join his father’s ranks.

Instead of going to LSU, Shareef O’Neal chose the University of California. Even though his scary call limited him as a player, Shareef is a solid contributor in the G-League. Similarly, both Amirah and Shaqir are also athletically inclined.
Further, both are members of the Texas Southern University program. Prior to joining TSU, Amirah joined her dad’s alma mater as a walk-on. Now, the youngest of his children, Me’Arah is set to begin her journey as well.
While she is fielding multiple offers, she’s taken to Instagram to showcase one of the options. Representing the Florida Gators, the 17-year-old showed off the iconic blue and orange. Looking at the comments, it’s clear that the family is supportive of her choice.
Brother Myles was immediately in the comments, “Let’s goooooooooo.”

One of the better prospects to come in at the collegiate level, Me’arah has a ton of suitors.
But, the question remains the same. Who will the 17-year-old pick? Will it be her dad’s old hunting grounds of Louisiana State University, which boasts one of the best women’s basketball programs in the nation?
Among the offers could be a revamped program at the University of South California should she choose to remain close to home. Or, a shift to Shaq’s hometown with the added benefit of joining her elder brother at TSU could be on the cards.
