Swiss tennis star Roger Federer was born in Basel, Switzerland, and happens to be a religious man. Although he cannot visit church as often, he believes in God.

‘I never spoke about it, but yeah, we are Catholic‘, he said. ‘I was going to the Church with my father. With our kids, we visited the Vatican and Einsiedeln.’

He also said that the birth of his four kids in 2009 and 2014, was ‘definitely the highlights‘ of his life. The World number one admitted that he generally appreciates moments when the family all together.

There are mornings where all six of us sleep in one bed. These moments please me, they connect us to each other.’ he continued: ‘I want them to be strong characters. I had a beautiful childhood and I hope to share with them most of my experience. But I also wish that I could be there for my kids as long as possible. Life becomes complicated early enough.’

Federer also spoke about other aspects of his life. He happens to be a Moet & Chandon ambassador. He confessed that he first drank champagne on his 18th birthday. According to him, champagne helped him relax a little bit and get over his nerves.

He admitted that his favourite champagne is the Grand Vintage 2009 of Moet & Chandon. He said that that particular brand was perfect for special occasions.

It also takes him back to the year 2009 when he won the French Open. He married Mirka in the same year and welcomed the first two twins Myla and Charlene. 5 years later, Lenny and Leo joined the family.

Now, Federer will be trying his hardest to prepare for the final Grand Slam of the year. Unfortunately, it hasn’t gone off to the best of starts as he has withdrawn from Toronto.
