On December 18, 2022, YouTuber IShowSpeed stunned the world with his comical stunt at the FIFA World Cup final 2022. The 17-year-old attended the finals wearing three jerseys, which became the root of this stunt worldwide. First, he wore his favorite football player’s jersey – Cristiano Ronaldo, as he flew all the way from the States to cheer him. But after the catastrophic loss against Morocco, he switched sides within seconds. 

This led him to add France to his favorites and supported them at the finals. 

During the kick-off, Speed wore Portugal’s jersey around his neck, featuring France in the spotlight. So, fans started making assumptions that the creator was supporting the French squad, rooting for them to win. But then, after the penalty shoot-out, Speed featured a comical stunt that shook them all.

It is no secret that IShowSpeed was rooting for Portugal as his favorite player featured in the team. But Portugal’s 1-0 quarter-final loss to Morocco crushed his dream. This came as a shock to Speed, as he could barely witness Ronaldo walk off with a loss. He even expressed his feelings live on stream as he hosted a special stream for the game.

Post the finals, Speed took off his France jersey and revealed the Argentine legend Messi‘s jersey he was wearing underneath. His change of teams went viral on the internet as a few of Argentinian fans cheered in the background. Then, he also uploaded a bunch of tweets praising Messi, saying, “Ok, I finally admit it. Messi is the 2nd best of all time after Ronaldo.”
