For those unaware, proximity chat is a kind of voice chat feature that only activates when two players are close to each other. This means if there are four players in an ongoing game, they would hear each other when they are close in-game.

And this could seriously lead to some hilarious circumstances. Imagine hearing people’s frustrated screams when someone shoots a goal! But this would mostly be a very impractical thing to add to a game like FIFA.

In team-based games like Call of Duty and Warzone, proximity chat can prove very productive indeed. But in a game that mostly offers 2 V 2 matches, it would only cause some sort of chaos, that is mostly unasked for.
